Conference Information

The meeting at the Grand Hyatt Denver begins with registration on Sunday, May 31 and concludes at noon on Wednesday, June 3. General sessions will be held each morning. A choice of in-depth sessions on legal and tax policy issues, technology, tax compliance and management issues are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday afternoon. 

The opening reception will be held Sunday evening at the Seawell Ballroom, Denver Center for the Performing Arts and will feature the Swing Street Jazz Trio. The President’s Awards Luncheon, including presentation of the FTA Leadership and Service Award as well as awards for innovation in technology applications and excellence in tax policy and administration research, will be held Monday. On Tuesday evening, the meeting banquet will be held at the Grand Hyatt (conference headquarters) with entertainment from the 17th Avenue Allstars, Colorado’s premier vocal group and winner of the national Harmony Sweepstakes, the "super bowl" of a cappella competition.

Sunday, May 31

7:30 a.m. Golf Excursion and Tournament —  Fox Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood (meet in hotel lobby at 6 a.m. for departure; breakfast and lunch at golf course.  Return to hotel at 2 p.m.)

2 – 6 p.m. — Conference Registration

7 – 9 p.m. — Opening Reception -- (Seawell Ballroom, Denver Center for the Performing Arts , within walking distance of the hotel; bus transportation will be available.)

Monday, June 1

7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Registration

7 – 8:30 a.m. — Commissioners Only Breakfast and Continental Breakfast for attendees

8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. Guest Outing -- Bus tour of the Celestial Seasonings specialty tea production plant; Leanin’ Tree greeting card publishing company (including the Leanin’ Tree Museum of Western Art); lunch (pre-set menu) at the Boulder Cork: and tour of Hammond’s Candy Factory (featured on Food Network and in Martha Stewart Living magazine).

8:30 a.m. – noon — GENERAL SESSION

Noon to 1:30 p.m. — FTA President’s Luncheon at hotel

1:30 – 5 p.m. — CONCURRENT SESSIONS

Tuesday, June 2

7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Registration

7 – 8:30 a.m. — Commissioners Only Breakfast and Continental Breakfast for attendees

8:30 a.m. – noon — GENERAL SESSION

 

Noon to 1:30 p.m. — Lunch on your own. Visit the 16th Street Mall, less than two blocks from hotel!
